Children & Young People

It is often said that younger people and the children are the future of the church, but they are also very much an essential part of its life today. In our parish, there is considerable social interaction between families, in church and beyond, and we value the gift of life and vitality that they bring to our church family.

Junior Church operates during term time only, and is run by a volunteer team of gifted and enthusiastic leaders, including some teachers from St Katharine’s School, and they offer a wide range of activities during sessions. On the first Sunday of the month there is a Family Eucharist at St Nicholas’ with participation by young people and a music group on occasion.

Each year in the summer we have ‘Breakfast on the Beach’, organised by parents, with a short act of worship, sandcastle building and games. This is a great event, and an opportunity for the children and parents to have fun together, and to give thanks for the wonderful blessings we have in our lovely coastline.
